This happened about a week ago (let me preface by saying I am NOT pregnant)...
Leah: When's the baby coming?
Me: Who's baby?
Leah: I don't know
Leah: (after a pause) Is the baby going to be a boy or girl?
Me: Who's baby, honey?
Leah: I don't know
Me: Well, I can't answer your question if I don't know who's baby
Leah: Baby's come from drains
Me: Really? (now I am thinking maybe she thinks it is her baby we are talking about) Is it your baby?
Leah: No...YOUR baby!
Me: I am not having a baby
Leah: Yes you are...and it's going to be...going to be a girl. And I want to name her Morgan.
Me: Well, you already have a friend named Morgan, maybe you should pick a different name.
Leah: Well, what is Morgan's baby's name?
Me: Bailey
Leah: No, I still want to name her Morgan
After a few minutes
Leah: Where will the baby sleep
Me: when we have a baby, he/she will sleep in the room next to yours
Leah: Well, where will you put the crib?
Me: We will take the bed out
Leah: Where will you put the bed...
Okay, so it becomes a never ending conversation! I just thought this would make others smile today.
You may wonder where she got the whole drain idea. I think it is from when she was hearing the saying..."there must be something in the water" when there were a number of teachers pregnant at school during the same time.
So, a few days later, she is in the bath at my parent's house. My mom had given her a teaspoon to play with. She was using it in the faucet.
Me: What are you doing?
Leah: I have to clean out the drain so that the babies can get through.
Oh, how precious they can be. I think maybe I need to get a board book on where babies come from!:)
