4/7 was spent preparing for Easter. Apparently, the Easter Bunny was doing a practice run because he visited our house in the morning. Grama Mary came over and saw him hiding the girls’ Easter baskets outside.
Later that day, while Amber was napping, we (okay I took pictures and Joe and Leah) dyed Easter eggs. Leah was much more patient this year as compared to prior years. She left the eggs in the dye much longer and she ended up with some vibrant colored eggs. After dying eggs, Leah and Joe put together a few Lego sets that Leah had received for her birthday. She had a great time doing that, not sure if it was the Legos or just spending one-on-one time with daddy, but she sure was excited to show me when I got back from running a few errands!
4/8 was spent with family and friends for Easter day. When we woke up, Leah had already been awake and had found Amber’s Easter basket which she thought was for both of them. She was very excited to find out that she had her own basket and began the search for her basket! Both girls loved their Easter treats. After baskets, we got ready for the day. Amber is now a full-fledged 2 year old… Grama Mary and Nonna bought her a beautiful Easter dress, which she refused to where on this day. She did allow a different dress which was Leah’s Easter dress (from when Leah was 3)! We made it to church, and then headed to Jim and Renate’s house (Tiffanie’s Parents) for the Easter festivities. The day included more baskets (yes, the girls got 3 Easter baskets from the Easter Bunny- wow), an Easter egg hunt (these eggs were filled with coins), chasing Amber around the house as she stole pieces of chocolate, and, of course, lots of food!
On 4/13, Joe and I celebrated our 10th anniversary. It is hard to believe that it has already been 10 years. I am lucky to have Joe, and I think he would agree, he is lucky to have me! J To celebrate, the girls stayed with my parents, and Joe and I went out with our friends, Rick and Jaclyn. We had a nice time. We went to Dick’s Last Resort at the Mall of America. Yes, it was a fun time because of company, but the food was not good and they had a mediocre band at best. So, although it was a change from the norm (they serve with sarcasm)…I doubt we will return.
On 4/14, We (my mom, Leah, Amber, and I) headed to Chippewa Falls, WI for a baby shower for my friends (who are also sisters) – Beth (due in June) and Suzy (due in August). It was so much fun to share this time with them. I am so happy for both of them. They will make excellent moms and I am excited to meet their babies when the time is right. Congrats and best wishes to the both of you!!
The time we spent in Chippewa was short as my mom, Leah and I had to be back for a play (Joe met us for a quick dinner and to take Amber home). We went to see “Giggle, Giggle, Quack” at Stages Theater with a play gang - My mom, Leah and I, my friend Jaclyn, her daughter Kaylee, and her mom, Deb. This was a very cute show and appropriate for all ages. Jaci and I were kind of bummed we didn’t take our little ones to this show. They would have enjoyed it as well.
Today, Amber had tubes put in her ears. We had to be to the hospital at 6:45, the procedure was scheduled for 8:15. I spent almost that entire time chasing Miss Amber around as she kept fleeing the room (which had a sliding door that she quickly figured out). I don’t think I need to exercise today as I certainly got in a few miles this morning! Her procedure when good, there was lots of puss drained from her ears and the tubes placed. Hopefully, she will be infection free now! She is recovering quite well. A little more mellow that normal, but still our active girl! Nothing will stop this one! J Oh, and I forgot to mention, no nap today (except for a short one in the car!
