Leah's first concert

Leah and I went to the Taylor Swift "Fearless Tour" concert last night at the Xcel Center in St. Paul. Opening acts were Gloriana and Kellie Pickler.

Joe made a great t-shirt for Leah to try to get spotted for upgraded seats or backstage passess by a local radio station, unfortunately it did not get spotted. However, it will be a great keepsake for her to remember her first concert!

Leah had a great time...after getting over fatigue (we did try to get her to take a nap), and getting ear plugs. When Gloriana started, she immediately plugged her ears and said that it was too loud. I sent Joe a text to say that we might have a problem. He told me that I should be able to get some plugs there, and, sure enough, I was able to get some at Guest Services. Leah lost one of the plugs at the beginning of Taylor, and then she took out the second one later in the show. I guess she just had to get used to it

She spent the first part of the show taking everything in, but by the second half, she was getting into it by waving her glow stick and singing along. We had awesome seats on the first level, straight back from the stage which was on the opposite end of the floor. We lucked out, though, and she had a small stage on the floor nearest to us, and, when she was on that stage, we were only about 75 feet away from her. She also sang a song in the aisle of one section and was only 3 sections over from us, so again we were able to see her well. Another bonus, we were sitting in row 11, but our seats were just above the entrance to the floor, so there were only 3 rows in front of us which made seeing for Leah much better!

Leah told me after the show that her favorite song was "Love Story" and her favorite dress was the pink one (it is more of a maroon color) that she wore during love story. It is the old fashion dress pictured below.

I must say that it is a small world. Leah dropped one of her ear plugs under the seat in front of her, so I asked the person sitting there if she would mind getting it for us. When she looked back, I said- "you look very familiar." It just so happened that we graduated from high school together. Another note, when Taylor was singing in the crowd, she was walking back to the stage, and we saw Abby - a friend of Leah's from school!

Leah was exhausted, and it did not take long for her to fall asleep once we got into the car. She had a great first concert!
