Amber is 4 months

Amber at 4 months:

  • she smiles all of the time and it just make my day!
  • she babbles a lot-- another story teller?
  • she has given up the pacifier for her fist/fingers/thumb
  • she seems to be teething, but none have broken through
  • she sleeps between 9-11 hours at night - usually!
  • she cat naps through the day
  • she eats about every 3 hours though the day, and, as of this week, she is given 100% formula
  • she has no buffer when it comes time to eat - happy baby one minute, freaking out baby the next!
  • she loves to sit in her bumbo seat and exersaucer
  • she has discovered the baby in the mirror
  • she has started to get the idea of rattles
  • she is okay with baths as long as it is not time to eat!
  • She has experienced her first: road trip, campfire, boat ride, trip to the mall, trip to the cabin
  • she can push herself up when on her tummy and is trying hard to roll over
  • she can briefly sit unsupported - WOW
  • Nicknames : Mommy- Princess, Daddy- Peanut, Mini-Joe (because of her many daddy traits)

Dance recital

Leah had her first dance recital tonight, and she (and her class) did a great job! She had an adrenaline high after the recital...she was just full of energy. And, even though she has stated that she does not want to do dance again next year, I think that she had a great time and really enjoyed dancing on the stage.

She has another show tomorrow at 3pm. I am room mom...should be interesting!!

Last day of gymnastics...5/25/10 (yep, I am behind)

Leah loved gymnastics class and is disappointed that it has now ended. It is great exercise for her and a wonderful way for her to use all of that energy of hers!

Memorial Weekend

We spent the first weekend up at the cabin for the summer. We had a great time with great weather.

Leah enjoyed "swimming" in the lake, fishing (she actually caught a few fish off of the dock), going on the boat, going to the park, playing with her cousins and the neighbor girls, and eating marshmallows by the fire (she even had smores- she wouldn't try them last year).

Amber's first trip to the cabin also included her first fire and first boat ride. She loves being outside, so this was her element! She fell asleep on the boat ride (go figure--motion baby) and was entranced by the fire.

We went to Duluth on Sunday for my cousin John's graduation party. It was a very nice party! Well done, Vicky and Jim!

On the wall at school in May was a poster for Moms...

  • I love my mom because...she lets me hold the baby (Leah)
Currently on the wall at school is a poster for Dads...
  • I love my dad because...he makes me mac and cheese for dinner (Leah)
Currently on the wall at school...
  • What I want to be when I grow up...a cheerleader (Leah)

Leah is finished with gymnastics for the session and she has her Dance Recital this weekend and dance will be complete. She has told me that she just wants to continue with gymnastics. We will see if that stays the same after the recital! Pictures to come later of dance and gymnastics.
