Completed!

Yeah! My mom has finished her radiation treatments today. She did have a rough week and she is dealing with some bad burns, so, hopefully they will heal quickly so she can enjoy a relaxing weekend at the cabin!

She's okay so go ahead and laugh...I did!

So, Leah and I joined my friend/coworker Jody and her daughter Morgan at the Isanti County Fair on Thursday after work. The girls had a great time eating fair food for dinner, going on a couple of rides, and seeing the animals. Before heading home, we sat down in the Grandstand where a local band was playing and the girls decided to boogie. I took some video with my camera, and so glad that I got this one! She is okay, so you can laugh...I did!

A Conversation with Daddy

This is the conversation that Leah had with Joe when he returned after being gone for 3 days for work.

Leah: Did you go to that city?
Daddy: Yes, I went to a different city for work.
Leah: Is it that way (pointing south)?
Daddy: Yes, do you remember when we went to the "big heads" (Mount Rushmore)?
Leah: Yeah
Daddy: It was on the way to the "big heads."
Short Pause
Leah: I want to go to the "big heads" again
Daddy: We will, someday
Leah: With Nonna and Grandpa?!
Daddy: Sure
Leah: Mommy too?
Daddy: Yup
Leah: And Daddy, and I'll bring "baby" too.

And on another note- Joe and I had "Date Night." We went to see Batman-The Dark Night. It really lived up to all of the hype. Try to get to it if you have a chance. You won't be disappointed.

Catching up

My cousin (once removed) Lexi was visiting my Aunt Vicky and family in Duluth last week. Leah and I met them at the MOA. It was fun to see Lexi, Vicky, Chris and John.

Leah and I spent the weekend up at the cabin with my parents and their friend, Karen. Leah had a blast playing with the bubble wand she got from Aunt Vicky.
Joe is out of town today through Friday for work. We miss you!

The 4th is over

I can't believe that the 4th of July has already passed. This year seems to be going by so quickly especially this summer- maybe because it was so late to start!

We had a nice time at the cabin. Leah had a great time playing with her cousin Thea, and loving up her new cousin Delila. Leah loved playing in the lake. She even jumped in to me from the end of the dock. She would walk into the lake to shoulder level all by herself. She is definitely getting more comfortable in the lake. The same can't be said for the boat. She did scream as we tried to take her on the boat, so we did not push it at first. Then, it was time for all of us to go to see fireworks- so we pushed it. She screamed, but by the time we were out of the boat lift, she was just fine. She seemed to enjoy the fireworks, but she was so tired from a busy day that she fell asleep during the fireworks, well, all the girls did. I think we wore those girls out- especially Leah and Thea. Leah slept until 8:30am on Sunday- a record (normally up by 7 at the latest). On Sunday, we took Leah and Thea to the beach playground. They had a blast. Leah went on the boat again- screamed she did not want to go, but once on, she enjoyed it!

Hope you all had a wonderful celebration. Here are some pictures or ours.
