Update

Just to let you all know, Tiffanie is doing better. Likely, it was all because of fluid retention from the pregnancy. She was put on medication and is doing better. Last I heard, she was to be going home yesterday. I am in MI, so I may not have all the info, but I just wanted you all to know that she is doing better.

Lila also is doing better. Seems like the vomiting resolved.

Have a great weekend.

Tiffanie and Lila

My sister-in-law, Tiffanie, was hospitalized last night. They are unsure what is going on but she does have an enlarged heart. A blood clot has been ruled out. The cardiologist should be seeing her sometime today. She just had little Lila 13 days ago. Lila has not been feeling well either. She was been throwing up a lot. My brother brought her in today for a scheduled check up. Please keep them both in your thoughts and prayers!

Tomorrow we leave for MI to visit Joe's Dad, Shorty.

Opening up the cabin!

We had a nice weekend at the cabin. It was just us and my parents as Dan and Tiff are still caring for a newborn! We did have some nice weather, with some storms and cold weather, but what can one expect when you live in Minnesota and spend the weekend Up North. My Dad and Joe put the dock and boat lift in on Saturday morning, and the boat was put in the water Sunday afternoon. Dad had some fun working on the water pump for the 2nd year in a row! He was successful in making it work- thank goodness!

Leah surprised us by WANTING to go on the boat. It was a bit windy and cold on the lake and a storm was coming, but we were able to get in a short ride. She also had a great time with her cousin Nico. My Aunt Linda, Uncle Steve, Cousin Kris and her son, Nico joined us for the day yesterday. Leah just loves them- especially Nico, and he is so good to her. Leah also had fun "fishing"- she preferred not using a hook, just the plastic fish tied to the end of the line. Leah and Nico also spent some time digging in the sand. Nonna also spent some time early in the morning digging in the sand with Leah, so that Joe and I could get some extra sleep! Thanks Mom. We did manage to wear Leah out as she slept until almost 8am on Sunday morning- usually she is up by 6am at the latest. We did get in a fire on Sunday night between the storms. We discovered that Leah will not even try a smore or a roasted marshmellow. She just wanted the plain marshmellow and chocolate- though good, I am sure she will soon discover what she is missing!

Update

My mom is feeling much better. She saw the radiologist/oncologist today. She will have 6 weeks of radiation M-F. She will get a break around the 4th of July.

Looks like Leah and I will have a sick day tomorrow. She had been very mellow this afternoon. She had swimming lessons at 5 and after class, she had the chills and just couldn't shake them. We went to dinner, and the poor little girl was definitely not feeling well. By the time we got home, she had 102 F temp. So, we gave her some Tylenol, watch DORA, and put her to bed. Temp is on the way down with the help of the Tylenol. Hopefully, it stays that way!

Mom's recovery

Unfortunately, my mom has an infection from the lumpectomy. She is on antibiotics, so, hopefully, it will be a speedy recovery. Keep thinking postive thoughts for her!

Delila "Lila" Grace

Went to meet our niece today. Very exciting. She is adorable. Slept most of our visit, but we did get a brief peek into her eyes. Tiffanie is recovering well from her c-section.

Welcome Baby Girl Martin

My niece was born this morning via c-section. My sister-in-law sure makes them big. This one is 9lbs 7.5oz. I don't have any other information at this time. Can't wait to meet her.

Update

Just to let everyone know...My mom is doing well. The pathology report came back clean, so they were successful this time around. She has had a bit more trouble recovering from this one, but she is doing well and getting better. She won't know about radiation for a couple of weeks.

Update

My mom will need all of your good thoughts and prayers again on Thursday. Unfortunately, they did not retrieve the entire lump the first try, so a repeat lumpectomy is to be completed this Thursday. We love you mom and this will all be over soon!

Cutie

Leah and I went to meet our friend's new baby, Kurtis, last Tuesday. What a cutie. Love the smell of a newborn.
Leah is into "telling" on herself and others. It can be quite funny when she tells us about how she got into trouble at school or comes up to us to tell on another child. Most of the time she is being a bit dramatic!
I forgot to mention this- Joe and I thought is was pretty funny. About a week and a half ago, we were eating at Chili's, and Leah hit her bottom on the back of the booth. She said, "I hurt my bootie butt." Of course, Joe and I burst out laughing, which caused her to say "bootie butt" over and over again!
We also had a great time this weekend visiting our friend, Beth, and seeing her new house. A very nice house! Because it was very windy, we went to the mall so Leah could play at the indoor playground. Leah had a great time, and got some new clothes and pink crocs. Lucky girl.
